  • This is National Geographic’s Mount Everest themed website, with lots of great information as well as amazing videos and photos which are to be expected from National Geographic. It also contains great teaching resources and games and quizzes for children.
  • Mounteverest.net is for climbers by climbers and is a great resource for the hard core climber as well as climbing enthusiasts. It contains news pertaining to Mount Everest as well as expedition lists, information about weather, and climbing season coverage. The site also contains lots of links to information about climbing gear, pictures and even how you yourself can become a climber.
  • Alan Arnette is a veteran climber with two Everest attempts under his belt. This is his personal website and is a great resource for all things related to climbing including Mount Everest. The site includes amazing photos, video, essays as well as personal accounts of climbing Everest and Alan’s personal coverage of yearly Everest expeditions. The site also has great links to other climbing sites and an area containing Everest material just for kids.
  • Everestnews.com is the largest mountaineering publication in the world. This site provides all kinds of information pertaining to climbing with special interest given to Mount Everest and 8000m expeditions. The site provides daily updates throughout the year and especially during the climbing season about happenings on the mountain. The site also contains loads of links to useful sites and to great pictures.
  • The Discovery Channel’s Everest page is a great multimedia resource relating to Everest. It was created for the Discovery Channel series “Everest: Beyond the Limit”. The site contains lots of information relating to Everest including pictures, videos and some fun online games.
  • Check out the view from the top of the world. This 360 degree panoramic view from the top of Mount Everest gives some idea of what it is like to stand on top of the world. It also shows you the view T.A will have in just a few short weeks.

  • Does the abominable snowman really exist? The Nepalese people believe that the mythical creature known as the “Yeti” guards both Mount Everest and the villages that spot the Himalayan landscape. The Creature is described as a massive ape-like creature with a pointed head and white fur. It is often believed to be a distant cousin of North America’s own “Bigfoot”, but is it real? Who knows maybe T.A will meet one on her journey.
